The ironic thing is that the guy was saying this while adopting the 'I am more knowledgeable' attitude, not realising that his argument is flawed, and hence having the statement applying moreso to himself.

Everyone here (except for those real high-ranking ones) is getting poverty pay compared to American standards. Which is why a lot of scholars who went to Ivy League universities prefer staying there to work, cos they can earn three times the amount they earn here per month.
Don't I know it.
The pay in Indonesia is even more atrocious. But I do not know the potential percentage of savings one can get there (like 30% of salary etc.) I do know that the potential percentage in Japan is higher, even after factoring in our 20% CPF.
I say potential percentage because some people just can't stop spending long enough to save.
